A Taney County Women is arrested in a central Missouri County on firearm and drug charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Cara Torner of Kissee Mills was arrested in Miller County on two felonies of Unlawful Possession of Firearms and possession of a controlled substance which is listed as methamphetamine.
Torner was held in the Miller County Jail in Tuscumbia for just over 24 hours before being released Sunday evening on a $25,000 bond.
College of the Ozarks students to perform free, patriotic play October-November
POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — The College of the Ozarks will present its annual, free, patriotic play, October through November, on select dates. Back by popular demand, the play is “Breaking the Silence: Stories of Vietnam Veterans,” which tells the stories of five heroes, all who have connections to the College.

POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — College of the Ozarks will host Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush, and First Lady Laura Bush, as this year’s speaker for the Leonard B. and Edith Gittinger Convocation on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Howell W. Keeter Gymnasium. The convocation will be moderated by Professor of the Practice of Journalism Erin Hayes-Dennis, who is a nationally acclaimed former ABC news correspondent.
