In press releases issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Biden Administration announces aid for Health Facilities in Arkansas and Missouri.
According to the release, a total of around $8.3 million in American Rescue Plan funding has been awarded to 12 health centers in Arkansas to expand their primary health care infrastructure in medically underserved communities. In Missouri, that total is just under $20 million to 27 health centers.
The release goes on to say that the selected health centers can use the funding to funding to secure freezers to store COVID-19 vaccines, purchase mobile vans to better reach and vaccinate marginalized communities, or construct, renovate or expand their facilities so they are better equipped for future pandemics or public health challenges.
The facilities selected in Arkansas include the Boston Mountain Rural Health Center in Marshall and the St. Francis House NWA in Springdale while in Missouri, the facilities include the Douglas County Public Health Services Group of Ava and Advocates of a Health Community in Springfield.
