Branson officer honored for saving woman’s life

The Branson Board of Aldermen honored a member of the Branson Police Department for actions above and beyond the call of duty when he placed his own life in danger to save a woman from a burning car.

Officer Jeremy Dixon was given the city’s Special Commendation for his quick response after discovering a drunk driver, following them, and being immediately on the scene when the driver left the road, struck a tree and the car burst into flames.

“I’m sure many people in this room are familiar with the song ‘Angels Among Us,’” Branson Police Chief Eric Schmitt said. “On this day, truly, he may not look angelic, but they come in all different shapes and sizes.”
