Branson School District Names Two New Assistant Principals

The Branson School District has named new Assistant Principals for their Cedar Ridge Campus for the coming school year.

Cedar Ridge's New Elementary Assistant Principal will be Kendra Scott, who current works in the District's Special Services Office and has also been a Special Education Teacher at the High School. Meanwhile, Nathan Carter returns to the Branson School District after three years as Assistant High School Principal at Cassville, Carter had previously been a High School Science Teacher at Branson. Carter will be the Assistant Principal at Cedar Ridge Intermediate.

Scott and Carter are replacing Stacie Thompson who had served as Assistant Principal at both buildings. Thompson is taking over the Cedar Ridge Intermediate Principal Position from Landon Gray, who is leaving to become the Superintendent of Schools at Sparta.

The Branson School District’s Cedar Ridge campus will have two new assistant principals beginning with the 2021-2022 school year. Kendra Scott will be the newest assistant at Cedar Ridge Elementary and Nathan Carter will join the administrative team at Cedar Ridge Intermediate. They will replace Stacie Thompson, current assistant at both buildings, who will become principal at the Intermediate.

Kendra Scott is currently a process coordinator in the district’s Special Services office and has also been a high school special education teacher. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Evangel University; a master’s degree from Drury University; and she holds a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Scott completed her doctorate in Educational Administration through Lindenwood University. Her husband Brandon is a physical education teacher at Buchanan Intermediate. They have two school-age children.

Nathan Carter returns to the Branson School District after a stint as assistant high school principal with the Cassville School District where he has worked since 2018. He was a science teacher at Branson High School from 2012-2018.  Carter earned a bachelor’s degree from College of the Ozarks; a master’s degree from Missouri State University; and a specialist degree in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University. His wife Janelle will be a Reading Interventionist at Cedar Ridge Intermediate next fall. They have three school-age children.

Scott and Carter begin their new duties with the district this summer.
