A report of missing vehicles from Springfield eventually leads to the arrest of two individuals in Douglas County.
According to a recent report posted on the department's Facebook Page, residents around Goodhope reported a suspicious U-Haul and Chevy Truck. The Sheriff's Department discovered that the two vehicles were similar in description to vehicles that had been reported as stolen out of Springfield.
Eventually, officers located one of the stolen vehicles and arrested 43-year-old Nathan Rogers of Springfield and 48-year-old Arneelia Cox of Branson. Besides the stolen vehicles, evidence of methamphetamine use as well as weapons also stolen from Springfield was uncovered.
Both Rogers and Cox taken to the Douglas County Jail on a $25,000 and $20,000 Bond respectively.

On November 27, 2023 Sheriff Degase received information about a suspicious white U-haul type truck and a Chevy truck in the Goodhope area near the Feedbag Store and Little Beaver Creek. Sheriff Degase was able to obtain information that both vehicles could possibly be stolen out of Springfield.
Information and photographs of the stolen vehicles were sent out to all Douglas County Deputies and a short time late Deputy Wilson who was off duty at the time observed the vehicles and followed them to the Feedbag Store.
Sheriff Degase, Deputy Box and Deputy Wilson located one of the vehicles at the Feedbag Store and confirmed it was stolen. A male subject identified as Nathan Rogers age 43 of Springfield was taken into custody at the time on an outstanding Christian County Warrant for failure to appear on a Felony Possession of a Controlled substance charge in June of 2022. Sheriff Degase located the second stolen vehicle at a nearby residence where Rogers was attempting to establish as his new P&P home plan as he was just released from Department of Corrections on August 30, 2023.
While searching the vehicle, syringes and scales were located in the truck that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Both Rogers and Cox admitted to recent methamphetamine use.
A female with Rogers, identified as Arneelia Cox age 48 of Branson, was also arrested as a result of the investigation for her involvement in the crime.
On November 23,2023 both the vehicles were reported stolen out of Springfield along with several firearms and several thousand dollars in tools. Sheriff Degase and Deputies were able to recover one of the stolen firearms, tools and both stolen vehicles.

Stealing of a motor vehicle- Class D Felony
Stealing of a motor vehicle - Class D Felony
Stealing- $750 or more- Class D Felony
Stealing of a Firearm- Class D Felony
Unlawful possession of a firearm by convicted felon- Class D Felony
Possession of a Controlled Substance- Class D Felony
Bond was set at $25,000 cash only
A warrant was issued for Arnellia Cox for
Stealing of a motor vehicle- Class D Felony
Stealing of a motor vehicle - Class D Felony
Stealing- $750 or more- Class D Felony
Unlawful possession of a firearm by convicted felon- Class D Felony
Possession of a Controlled Substance- Class D Felony
Both subjects are still currently incarcerated in the Douglas County Jail.
Cox bond was set at $20,000 cash only.
Sheriff Degase stated, “We were very fortunate to have arrested both subjects before they set up residency in Douglas County. Rogers who was recently released from the Department of Corrections had 21 prior criminal acts and Cox had 16 prior criminal acts. “
Sheriff Degase would like to thank everyone that called him after seeing both suspicious vehicles in the Goodhope area. Without this information off-duty Deputy Wilson would not have known to be looking for these vehicles.
