The Branson Police Department is now taking applications for their 2021 Branson Citizens Police Academy.
According to a Facebook post from the Branson Police Department, the program is designed to acquaint citizens with law enforcement’s role in the criminal justice system and provide an increased understanding of the tasks police officers face every day.
The 12-week course covers such topics as patrol procedures, crime scene processing and traffic enforcement. Participants will also learn about tactical operations, meet the K-9 team and take part in an optional ride-along.
The academy starts in early September and will wrap up before the holidays.
Enrollment in the program is free, but space is limited to 30. Participants must be at least 21 years old. Priority will be given to people who live or work in the city of Branson. Citizens can apply online now at the Branson Website. See the complete story from Branson Tri-Lakes News
