Community Continues to Remember Fred Woehl

Residents of Harrison, Boone County, and the surrounding area continues to remember the legacy of Fred Woehl.

An Ozark First Feature report includes interviews with Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway and Justice of the Peace Glenn Redding, who served many years with Woehl on the Boone County Quorum Court. They said the impact Woehl made in the community was immense and went beyond government service, including his work with organizations like Camp Jack and Special Olympics. Woehl also worked with horses and was a board member of the Mustang Heritage Foundation and work for many years as part of the Cowboy Festival at Silver Dollar City. 

Woehl served on the Boone County Quorum Court as JP for District 5 for eight years. Woehl had not run for reelection this year so his term was scheduled to end in December.  

Woehl died from injuries he suffered while cleaning up storm debris after last week's tornado that moved through Boone and Marion Counties.  

Memorial Services for Fred Woehl will take place on Friday June 7 at Faith Assembly of God in Harrison. Visitation will take place at 1:00 pm with the service to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial with military honors provided by the United States Army, will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
