Cooling Centers Opening Up in the Region

Several agencies and groups are opening cooling centers for those that are suffering from the extreme heat and a lack of access to cool locations.

The Taney County Health Department is putting together a list of locations on their website and asking organizations to contact them with information on locations. The Branson Senior Center and Salvation Army Branson along with the Forsyth Senior Center are three of the locations offering cooling locations in Taney County.

Meanwhile Monica Mueller of the Stone County Health Department says during a recording of the “At Your Service” Podcast that the Stone County Recovery Center at Keystone Church in Reeds Spring is offering a cooling center.

Both Health Department Websites have more information.
