Drought Levels Drop in Area

While the recent round of storms caused damage in many areas, the rain that has moved through the region with those storms has pulled much of the Lakes Region out of a drought.

The latest information released Thursday from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows most of the Lakes Region not at any drought level currently. The exception is northwestern parts of the region, with most of Barry County, northern Stone County, and extreme northwestern Taney County still at an Abnormally Dry Level.

The next week could see a reversal of this trend as no rain and hot conditions are expected in the region.
