Drought Levels Remain Low in Region

The Lakes Region remain at low or no drought levels after an extended period of hot dry conditions.

According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor Map, most of Barry County along with parts of northern Stone and Taney Counties remain at an Abnormally Dry Level which includes lower than normal river levels.

The rest of the Missouri Lakes Region and all of northern Arkansas are not currently listed at a Drought Level, though levels in area waterways including the Buffalo National River remain low.

After rain clears out of the area this morning, a cool and dry weekend is in the forecast for the region.
