Two incidents on Area Lakes had two different outcomes on Tuesday.
A 15-year-old boy from Hollister is in serious condition at Cox South Hospital in Springfield after being pulled from the Water at Moonshine Beach on Table Rock Lake. The Missouri Highway Patrol Water Division reports the incident occurred around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon when the boy became fatigued while swimming and went under the water.
Additional information released from the Western Taney County Fire Protection District indicated that a group of people had located the boy in the water just as they along with Branson Fire and Taney County Ambulance Units arrived. A Branson Firefighter swam out to their location and brought the victim to shore where they eventually were able to restart his pulse after around 15 minutes. In their Facebook Post, Western Taney Officials thanked the bystanders for their assistance in locating the victim as well as all of the emergency personnel involved.
The outcome was different earlier in the day as boaters on Bull Shoals Lake near Cedar Creek discovered a body floating in the water around 8:30 am. The Missouri Highway Patrol Water Division reports the individual has been identified as 62-year-old Monte Hindbaugh of Cedar Creek. The report indicated this is the eighth drowning in cases worked by the Highway Patrol Troop D in 2021.
