Dry Conditions Expand in Lakes Region

The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor indicates expanding dry conditions in the Lakes Region.

In Missouri, areas of Barry County including areas around Cassville and Roaring River State Park are now at a Severe Drought Level, with lack of rainfall leading to more stress on trees and consistently low water levels. Stone County and Western Taney County including the Branson/Kimberling City area is at a Moderate Level with the rest of the region Abnormally Dry.

In Arkansas, most of Carroll County and northwestern Boone County around Cricket Creek is at a Moderate level while the rest of the region is Abnormally Dry.

Those areas not getting rainfall from the remnants of Helene will continue to see dry conditions through most of next week.
