The round of severe thunderstorms that moved through the region Thursday did produce a brief tornado.
The National Weather Service in a report confirms that an EF-0 Tornado touched down northeast of Ozark which uprooted or snapped several trees along the path as well as damaging a barn and outbuilding.
The Weather Service estimates the tornado traveled at around one mile with a maximum width of 50 yards.
The Weather Service did issue a Tornado Warning for that area and areas to the northeast in the path of the storm. A storm survey team from the weather service confirmed the damage had a signature of a tornado touchdown.
Other areas around Ozark and Nixa sustained Thunderstorm Wind Damage as a result of the Thursday storm.
Other areas reported similar damage due to strong thunderstorms. One of the hardest hit areas of Arkansas was in Marion County around Flippin and Yellville where power was out for some residents until Saturday. Also, power outages and downed trees forced Flippin Schools to close on what was the final day before their Spring Break.
