Election 2024: High Early Voting Turnout Impacts Release of Results

A number of early voting in both Stone and Taney Counties impacted the release of the results from the November General Election.

Taney County Clerk Stephanie Spencer told the Branson Tri-Lakes News and Legends`1063 that over 9000 early ballots were cast and while votes cast on Tuesday were counted quickly, the Absentee Ballots were still being counted approaching midnight.

Stone County Officials added a high number of ballots were cast early and delayed the results until later in the evening.

Some of the Local Issues on the Ballot:

In Stone County, voters overwhelming passed the issue freezing Property Taxes for citizens 62 and older while voters in Indian Point did not pass a Property Tax Issue.

In Taney County pending the counting of Absentee Ballots, Republican Brian Seitz is projected to win a third term as the 156th House Representative defeating Democratic Challenger Janis Beecham.

Votes casts in the region also point to Republican Matthew Overcast winning the 155th House Seat over Democratic Courtney Sweeney-Legore.

Statewide in Missouri, Republicans sweep the State Offices with current Republican Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe defeating Democrat Crystal Quade to move up to the top spot while Republicans also claim the Lieutenant Governor's Office as well as Secretary of State, Treasurer, and Attorney General Positions.

Josh Hawley wins another term in the U.S. Senate defeating Democrat Lucas Kunce.

Eric Burlison wins a second term as 7th District Congressman as the Republican won a three-way race that included Forsyth Mayor Missi Hesketh running as a Democrat.

Over 74% of voters cast ballots in Stone County while minus the Absentee Ballots yet to be counted, over 44% of Taney County Voters went to the polls.
