North Arkansas College has events coming up, according to the school's Director of Public Relations Micki Somers.
Somers appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Thursday to discuss the events. The John Paul Hammerschmidt (JPH) lecture series. The series will include former professional basketball player Sidney Moncrief. He will discuss his experience as a player and coach. The lecture is free and open to the public and will occur at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 13.
Somers also talked about the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8. The college is a designated viewing spot.
The college will have on-campus events and free food and snacks. Somers said science teachers will facilitate learning activities to teach astronomy.
Later, she talked about the college's 50-year anniversary celebration that kicks off this month. The first activity is a dinner on April 18 at Signature Bank's community room.
It's open to the public and costs $50 a person. Cathy Grant, Bonnie Baker and Donna Bone will receive recognition. More was discussed on the broadcast.
