Forsyth Police Chief David Forrest resigned last week to accept a position with the Taney County Sheriff's Office.

Forrest had been Forsyth Police Chief since March of 2020.

Forsyth Mayor Kelly Dougherty read the Letter of Resignation at last week's Board of Aldermen Meeting in which it was officially accepted. Dougherty said during the meeting that the city would begin the process of conducting interviews to replace Forrest and would appoint someone within the department to act as Interim Chief.
