Free Fishing Weekends are happening in both Arkansas and Missouri this weekend.
In both states, people can fish without a Fishing License but other regulations like daily limits and restrictions will still be in place.
In Arkansas, one of the activities will be at the Bull Shoals-White River State Park, where there will be a free class on the basics of trout fishing Friday morning from 9-9:30 a.m. Attendees can learn how to trout fish on the White River, the various species of trout and the variety of baits that can be used. Attendees should meet at the park’s trout dock.
In Missouri on Saturday, young anglers will have opportunities to catch fish at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Kids’ Fishing Day from 9 a.m. to noon at the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery in Branson. The event is open to anglers ages 15 and under. Sunfish and channel catfish will be stocked at the hatchery. A few loner poles will be available but participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing equipment.
