A woman is sentenced to six years in prison in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in 2021.
According to an Ozarks First Report, Sheila Phillips of Galena was sentenced by a Stone County judge to six years on each charge for voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. She will serve these sentences concurrently according to court documents.
Phillips was initially arrested in January 2022 after being accused of murdering Billy Mack Walker, whose body was found abandoned next to a Dade County Road in December 2021. She pleaded guilty after reaching a plea agreement that reduced her charges in November 2023.
Gerald Hoffman was also sentenced to six years in prison in 2022 in the same case after being charged with two counts of tampering with physical evidence.
