Hollister Projects Moving Forward, Gearing Up for Independence Day Fireworks

The City of Hollister has a strong start to 2024.

During an interview Monday on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, Mayor Lamar Patton and City Administrator Rick Ziegenfuss provided updates on projects including the new roof currently being installed at City Hall as well continued work on Birch Street to complete a sidewalk project. 

Ziegenfuss added that currently the city is debt free with no bonds being paid on currently with a total general reserve fund is $1.5 million in addition to a $900,000 debt reserve. Ziegenfuss also added that revenues are ahead of budget projections this year. 

Patton also discussed the city's upcoming Independence Day Celebration that will include the 71st Annual Fireworks Celebration on the evening of the 4th. The fireworks, one of the only hand lit celebrations in the country, is funded through donations. Any size donations are appreciated according to Patton, who adds that there are several donation levels starting at $100 that includes other levels of recognition.
