Honor America is Saturday This Year

College of the Ozarks' Honor America celebration is on June 29.

The college's Valorie Coleman appeared on Legends 106.3 to talk about the event on The Upside. It's the thirty fifth annual Honor America. Coleman says the event is on a Saturday for the first time which she feels is a better fit for those at the school who put on the show as well as for those attending.  It kicks off at 6 p.m. The patriotic program will start around 8:45 p.m.

Coleman said attendees should arrive before 8:45 p.m. The gates will close at that time. Firework fun will blast off.

Children will have fun too. This year, a black hawk helicopter will sit in the children's section. The section will also have bounce houses, facepainting, veteran thank card writing and more. Coleman said those activities start at 4 p.m.

Attendees can expect plenty of food and snack options. That includes the college's student made milk and cookies, London Calling, Kilwins, Chick-Fil-A and more.

People will also have the opportunity to enjoy live music.

Legends 1063, MY 100.1, and New Country 1029 are sponsors of this event.

More from the full interview with Valorie Coleman can be seen on the The Upside Facebook Page.
