Information on three incidents leading to Fatalities over the weekend.
Harrison Crash
The name of a man who died in a weekend crash has been released.
The Arkansas State Police Reports 53-year-old David Redmon of Harrison was killed when his vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on the 65-62 Bypass in Harrison Sunday afternoon when he lost control on a curb crossed over the center line and hit another vehicle.
The two people in the other vehicle, both from Mountain Home, were injured in the crash.
Barry County Hit and Run Crash
The search continues for the driver of a stolen vehicle that was involved in a fatality crash in Barry County over the weekend.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred around 10:30 Sunday morning near Eagle Rock and claimed the life of 87-year-old Dorothy Hickey of Golden. Samuel Carpenter, Patrol public information and education officer for the Highway Patrol, tells the Cassville Democrat that the driver of the other vehicle, a pick-up that was reported stolen, fled on foot and has not been located.
The Barry County Sheriff’s Office along with the Highway Patrol continue the investigation into the incident.
"Dry Drowning" on Table Rock Lake
A woman dies after suffering a condition called “Dry Drowning” while swimming on Table Rock Lake Sunday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 50-year-old Leah Moss of Cassville was swimming in the lake around Point 21 in Stone County when she began to fill ill, left the water, and was taken to a nearby fire station before she died.
Officials tell Ozarks First that Moss died of “Dry Drowning” which is a condition that occurs when water gets into a person’s airwaves causing the vocal cords to spasm leading to the closing of the airwaves.
This is the seventh drowning in Troop D in 2021.
