Branson Mayor Larry Milton announces on Facebook that he will be running for a third term in office.
In a post on his "Milton for Mayor" Facebook page, Milton said the city has grown by "leaps and bounds" since taking office and that he doesn't want to stop the progress so he is going to seek to continue as mayor for another two years.
Milton was first elected Mayor in 2021 after having served as Ward 2 Alderman the previous year. Milton defeated then mayor Edd Akers in 2021 then fought off a challenge from former Mayor Karen Best and then Ward 2 Alderman Chuck Rodriguez in 2023.
The official candidate filing period for the 2025 Municipal Election runs from December 10-31 with Election Date set for April 8.
The complete statement from Milton announcing his reelection is below:
Well friends, it’s about to be election season again. Over the last four years it has been my distinct privilege to serve as your Mayor, and see the success of our city grow by leaps and bounds. That could not have been accomplished without our wonderful city staff and you, the citizens of Branson.
When I first ran for Mayor, it was to ensure that individual freedom and liberty were protected in Branson, and our traditional values were promoted to the world. We have accomplished those goals, and more, and I see no reason to stop now! With that being said, I am formally declaring my candidacy for a third term as your Mayor.
This has never been about me, it has always been about WE THE PEOPLE, and it will continue to be if you choose to reelect me. I come to work every day excited to serve you, and with our great state elected officials, and my fellow local elected officials, I believe the best is yet to come for our city.
For transparency, accountability and a government for the people, Vote to Re-Elect Milton for Mayor on April 8!
