Massive meat recall includes hundreds of products sold at Walmart, Target, more

A major recall of meat that has been distributed to major retailers like Target and Wal Mart continues.

During an interview Wednesday on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, FOX New Radio Reporter Jeff Monosso recapped the circumstances of the recall order by the Food and Drug Administration. Routine testing of meat from the Bruce Pac Company of Oklahoma discovered possible listeria contamination with follow-up testing reveling most of the contamination to be in the company's ready-to-eat chicken.

Monosso said that no illnesses have been reported with this current recall but that listeria did lead to the 10 deaths in an unrelated recall earlier this summer.

Monosso says the challenge in this recall is that not only is the meat shipped directly to retailers, but other food companies use products produced by Bruce Pac to put in their ready to each products.

According to the release posted by Ozarks First, the recall initiated by BrucePac involves more than 9.9 million pounds of pre-cooked meat and poultry items that were produced from June 19, 2024, to October 8, 2024.

The full interview with Jeff Monosso can be heard below with more specific information on the recall available at ozarksfirst.com.
