Mike Linehan's latest stop at a Lakes Area School is a return to the first area school he worked out.
A post on the Forsyth School Facebook page announces the Board of Education naming Linehan High School Assistant Principal for the upcoming school year. One of the early stops in Linehan's career was in Forsyth between 2005-07 as Head Boys Basketball Coach. Linehan later was Head Coach at Dadeville High School where he led that school to a pair of Class 1 Final Four Appearances in 2010 and 2011. Linehan also got into administration while at Dadeville spending four years as Principal followed by three years as Republic Middle School Principal. Linehan returned to coaching as an assistant at Springfield Kickapoo before returning to the Lakes Region in 2017 to begin a five-year stint as Branson Head Boys Basketball Coach. He left Branson in 2022 and this school year worked with the Alternative School and was an Assistant to Pete Leonard on the Hollister Boys Basketball Staff.
According to the release from Forsyth, Linehan says "he looks forward to continuing the tradition of a positive learning environment where teachers and students can feel supported, cared for, and ultimately enjoy success!"
