Minor Earthquake Again Hits Northern Marion County

An area that saw a pair of minor earthquakes two weeks ago reports another minor quake over this past weekend.

The United States Geological Survey reports a 2.2 magnitude quake was reported around 10:30 Saturday night around 10 miles west of the community of Bull Shoals in Marion County. The location of the quake is approximately 24 miles east-northeast of Harrison and around 30 miles south-southeast of Branson.

According to USGS, earthquakes below magnitude 3 are rarely felt but magnitude 2 plus quakes can sometimes be felt under the right conditions.

Two earthquakes were reported in areas west of the latest quake two weeks ago.

Anyone who felt the quake is encouraged to report it through the USGS Website.
