NOAA: Warmer, Dryer Fall Expected

For weather forecasters, a new season begins today.

While the official start of Fall is not until September 22nd, weather forecasters use the calendar to split the year into the four seasons for record keeping meaning Fall begins today and goes until the end of November.

NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center believes that most of the U.S. is likely to experience warmer-than-normal temperatures over the course of the next three months.

Indications for the Lakes Region are that temperatures will be slightly warmer than normal while precipitation will be lower than average.
Most of the Lakes Region has been in some level of Drought for much of the Summer and forecasters expect those conditions to continue. An update on the current drought level is expected to be released later today.
