Oak Ridge Boys' Richard Sterban Talks Farewell Tour and not Retiring

The Oak Ridge Boys will embark on their farewell tour.

Richard Sterban from the Oak Ridge Boys appeared on KRZK's "The Upside with Josh and Them" to discuss the American Made: Farewell Tour and more. The Gospel and country singer said the band isn't entering retirement but doing a tour for which the group hasn't set an end date.

He said they don't plan to stop working but will work less. He commented on the continued enjoyment of performing for their fans.

"Even after 50 years, we still look forward to getting on stage every night, taking our music live to our fans. That's something that we live for," Sterban said. He said the tour is a "thank you" to the fans.

While he said that they want to "entertain people," the band wants their music to impact people more than entertain them. He later said that the music provides hope to people.

The Oak Ridge Boys will perform at The Mansion Theatre on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. Sterban said they will perform in Branson until close to Thanksgiving. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Sterban is available on "The Upside with Josh & Them" Facebook Page
