Onward Ozark Project Underway

The city of Ozark is embarking on a significant project, Onward Ozark, aimed at shaping the future of key corridors within the city, and it's calling on the community for their valuable input. 

Onward Ozark is a comprehensive initiative focusing on the growth, development, transportation, and aesthetics of three major corridors: State Highway NN, 3rd Street/Highway 14, and South Street. These corridors are pivotal in shaping the city's infrastructure and will play a vital role in its future development. 

City officials are actively seeking input from the community to make informed decisions regarding these crucial roadways. An online survey has been made available for residents and stakeholders to share their thoughts and opinions with city leaders. This engagement is seen as an essential step in shaping the future of Ozark. 

The project Onward Ozark has several key objectives: 

Define Future Land Uses: The project aims to outline future land uses and development or redevelopment opportunities along these corridors. This will have a significant impact on the city's urban planning and development strategy. 

Promote Multimodal Transportation: Onward Ozark will offer actionable steps for both public and private property owners to encourage the development of multimodal transportation options. This means a greater emphasis on various modes of transportation, such as walking, cycling, and public transit, to ensure accessibility and connectivity. 

Engage the Community: The project intends to engage property owners, neighbors, and the public in meaningful and descriptive conversations about future land uses and activities along the corridors. This inclusive approach will ensure that local voices are heard and considered. 

Enhance Aesthetics: Onward Ozark will develop a character and aesthetic enhancements plan along these corridors, preserving the unique character and charm of Ozark. 

Boost the Local Economy: A key goal of this project is to strengthen and support the local economy of the Ozark corridors. This will benefit the community by creating economic opportunities and fostering growth. 

Implementation Strategy: The project will also work on developing a strategy to help the City of Ozark make progress on the strategies and goals defined within the Plan. This ensures that the objectives set out in Onward Ozark are translated into actionable steps and positive changes. 

In addition to the online survey, city officials have plans for additional public engagement opportunities, including virtual open houses in the coming months. These initiatives are geared towards fostering transparency, collaboration, and community involvement in shaping the future of Ozark's major roadways. 

As Ozark looks forward to continued growth and development, the Onward Ozark project is a pivotal step in ensuring the city's infrastructure aligns with the needs and aspirations of its residents.
