Poker Run in Eureka Springs Benefits Recovery House, Scholarship Fund

An event to help a recovery house and program in Carroll County is this weekend.

The seventh annual "Riding Today for a Better Tomorrow" Poker Run is set for Saturday at 8:00 am and will begin and end at the Cup of Love Food Pantry on Van Buren Drive in Eureka Springs. The event will benefit the Harm Reduction Program and the John Schubert Memorial Scholarship Fund for the 29:11 Healing and Recovery Center.

Vickie Poulson of the center recently joined KHOZ's "Around the Table" program to talk about the event as well as the programs that the center has to help people break away from drug addiction and into recovery. Poulson talked about her getting involved with Jerimiah House and eventually starting her on center through that organization, which is an outpatient center that allow people to get into recovery while maintaining a job. Poulson said they now can also provide housing for patients that need it and says she is looking to expand the facilities and services.

The full interview can be seen on the Around the Table Facebook Page.
