Reeds Spring High School students engineer rotating stage

REEDS SPRING, Mo. — Reeds Spring high school students are seeing the product of a collaboration between the theater and engineering programs. Engineering students have spent the past semester working on a rotating stage for an upcoming musical performance.

Engineering students went through the entire process of designing, budgeting, and building the rotating stage. One student, Jasper Atchison, says the class went through much trial and error, but seeing the theater students use it made it all worth it.

“It takes a lot of effort from everyone involved to get it spinning, especially to the point it was, then it took a lot of trial and error, a lot of planning, a lot everything,” Atchison said. “But we finally got it working and it was awesome.”
