Taney County Presiding Commissioner Mike Scofield feels the timing is right for him to step away from government service.
During an interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, Scofield discussed his decision not seek reelection to a third term as Presiding Commissioner. He explained after serving for or in government for 41 years, he wanted to enjoy some down time in his home area around Protem.
Scofield also reflected on his desire to bring transparency to county government as a reason he ran for the first of his two terms in 2014 and also reviewed the current budget status that he along with Eastern Commissioner Shelia Wyatt and Western Commissioner Brandon Williams are putting together with Auditor David Clark and the rest of the county officials.
