UPDATE 10:30 AM: The National Weather Service has increased the chances of severe weather to a Level 3 or Enhanced Risk for the Missouri Lakes Region while keeping northern Arkansas at a Level 3 for today. Storms may develop late afternoon into the evening hours.

An approaching frontal system that will eventually cool area temperatures to seasonal norms will bring with it a chance of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain.
According to National Weather Service Forecasters, the heaviest of storms for Round 1 will move through the region this evening with a Slight Risk of severe weather with 60 plus MPH winds possible and some hail. Unsettled weather is expected to redevelop on Wednesday with a higher, Enhanced Level for severe storms over areas southeast of Branson including most of the northern Arkansas Lakes Region.
Heavy rain is possible as well with up to two inches possible through Thursday morning, especially over southern areas of Table Rock Lake along with all of Lake Taneycomo and Bull Shoals Lake.
While rain chances will continue into the weekend, temperatures will be cooler with highs back in the low to mid 80s.
