The explosion in a house in Douglas County last weekend has an impact on a Lakes Area School District.

Four members of the Haro Family were killed in that explosion at the house in Goodhope. One of the members of the family, 16-year-old Alex Haro, was a student at Spokane High School, about to complete his sophomore year.

High School Principal Kent Doyle tells Ozarks First that their first day back in school after the explosion was Tuesday and that not much was accomplished as students and staff mourned throughout the day.

A vigil was held Thursday night at the score to honor Alex Haro with members of the community are selling t-shirts and have set up a GoFundMe to help Norma Haro, Alex’s sister who was in Chicago when the explosion happened with funeral expenses.

More on the story is on the Ozarks First Website.
