Three more Stone County School Districts will have Resource Officers beginning with the new school year in August.

According to a post on the Stone County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page, Corporal Dakota Romesburg will be assigned to Galena Schools with Corporal Bruce Nolan working at Crane Schools and Corporal Brent Moody assigned to the Hurley School District.

Sheriff Doug Rader says in the Facebook Post that this was a joint effort between his department as well as the school districts and the Stone County Commission. Rader added that Proposition P, passed by Stone County Voters in 2022, also made the addition of the school resources officers possible.

Radar says the department now has reached the goal of putting a Resource Officer in every School in Stone County.

The complete release from the Stone County Sheriff's Office is below:

We are so excited to announce our three new School Resource Deputies for Galena, Crane and Hurley Schools!   They all three just completed their SRO training in St. Louis.   All three Deputies will be promoted to Corporal with their new assignment, which will begin with the new school year in August.
Corporal Dakota Romesburg started with the Sheriff's Office in December 2020 as a Patrol Deputy.  He is a former Reeds Spring graduate and an Army veteran.  He will be assigned to the Galena Schools.
Corporal Bruce Nolan started with the Sheriff's Office in August 2018 as a Patrol Deputy, with 6 years of prior experience in law enforcement.   He will be assigned to the Crane Schools.
Corporal Brent Moody is a former 29 year teacher with the Hurley School system.  He is also a former Marine Veteran.  He has been a reserve Deputy with Stone County since January 2015 and became a full-time Deputy in May of 2023.
This has been a cooperative effort between the Stone County Sheriff's Office, Stone County Commission and the three schools that has made this happen!   This has also been made possible with the help of Prop P which was passed in 2022.  We are so thankful to fulfill the goal to have School Resource Deputies in every school in Stone County!
