The Importance of the Buffalo National River Partners and Disability Accessibility

The Buffalo National River Partners (BNRP) supports the National Park Service by providing aid to the park service's Buffalo National River unit, according to Landon Curtis.

Curtis explained that Casey Johannsen of the National Park Service can't solicit volunteers or engage in fundraising activities for the service. That's where the partner group comes in. The two appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Friday to share about what they do.

Curtis mentioned a river clean up event on September 28 as an example. He provided an update since his last time on the program.

The partner group has a superintendent now. When it comes to joining the group, nearly anyone is able to do it. Johannsen emphasized the importance of BNRP.

She also highlighted the park service's effort to welcome more guests with disabilities. July 26 is the anniversary of ADA.

While national parks face challenges when it comes to accessibility, they are moving forward. Johannsen explained that the park worked on brainstorming ways to improve access.
