Tips for New Year's Holiday Weekend

Planning ahead for the upcoming Holiday Weekend is one big key to staying safe.

That advice from EJ Jones from the Branson Police Department, who along with Police Chief Eric Schmitt appeared this week on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program. Jones said that planning what the activities are and when are key to making sure people stay safe. That includes making sure that there is either a Designated Driver for a group at a party where alcohol is being served or also having access to other forms of transportation. Jones did also mention the partnership between the Missouri Department of Transportation and the LIFT App for a $10 voucher to help with a ride home.

Jones and Schmitt both added that people in general need to be cautious about distracted driving, especially when on vacation.
