While visitor numbers remain strong for the Branson Lakes Area, visitors are tending to stay closer to home.
That was one of the things that came out of the 2022 Tourism Marketing Report from the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce that was presented at Tuesday's Branson Board of Alderman Meeting.
Appearing remotely to deliver the report was Jerry Henry of H2 Market Research that works with the chamber on compiling the report. Henry says that visitors to Branson continue to come from several core markets relatively close to the area while the number of visitors from "outer" markets have dropped. Henry says that is a trend that many visitor destinations have experienced. Henry went on to say that the COVID-19 Pandemic changed many aspects of travel and that past trends may return or new trends could develop.
Feedback from the Board and verified by Henry is that Branson's message highlighting their core values is a big factor in keeping the visitor numbers consistent and growing.
