Two Northern Arkansas Communities Named Trendsetter Cities

The Publication "Arkansas Business names two area communities on their "Trendsetter City" list for 2021.

Eureka Springs was a First Place Winner for Environmental/Green Practices while Marshall won a pair of Honorable Mention Awards in two different categories.

Eureka Springs was highlighted for the sustainability plan that began in 2015 and has seen the city implement many different programs from upgrading city facilities to putting together solar energy initiatives. The publication also noted Eureka Springs transition into a more Eco-Tourism Destination. The publication notes the initiatives were implemented through Mayor Robert Berry's Task Force on Economic Development which is a volunteer group. 

Meanwhile, the City of Marshall was noted for their work in tourism in developing the Buffalo River Historic Jail and Museum along with Wellness and Fitness in the development of Raccoon Springs Park which includes a community fishing pond.
