The Lake of Rainfall in the Lakes Region is leading to increasing dry conditions.

The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows that portions of the region are now at a Moderate Drought level. Those areas include Barry and Stone Counties in Missouri as well as parts of Carroll and Madison Counites in Arkansas.

Abnormally Dry levels are still reported in other parts of the Lakes Region including Boone, Marion, Newton, and Searcy Counties in Arkansas along with all of Taney County and western Ozark County in Missouri.

Low water levels are being reported in area rivers and streams with some stress on crops now showing according to this week's release.

Earlier this week, the Arkansas Department of Agriculture's Forestry Division issued a Moderate Wildfire Advisory for Boone, Carroll, Madison, and Newton Counties due to continuing dry conditions.
