Many Veterans from around the country were in Branson for the Veteran's Day Parade Friday that wrapped-up Veterans Homecoming Week.
Around 70 units were involved in the 89th Annual Parade which made its way on Branson Landing Blvd. and Commercial Street. While the spectator numbers were down slightly due to the cold weather, thousands of people did line the streets to view the parade.
Many veterans in or watching the parade had been in Branson for several days during the week.
“We did all the film festival, and then we’ve taken in a few extra shows and got to go to Showboat tonight,” Marines Veteran Lewis Johnson told Ozarks First. Johnson traveled from Michigan to enjoy the festivities. “The documentaries, they’ve been awesome. I mean, to see what some of the people really had to go through. I mean, you hear about it, but you can’t really put it together until you can see it. You got to say God bless them because for what they went through, because it was something that was really terrible.”
