Voting Starts: Absentee Period Underway

The next benchmark counting down to the Missouri August Primary Election has been reached.

Voters in Missouri that will not be able to cast a ballot in the Democratic or Republican Primary on August 6th can vote Absentee.

According to the information on the Secretary of State's Website:

Voters can request absentee ballots from their local election authority in person, by mail, by fax or by e-mail. Relatives within the second degree (spouse, parents and children) may complete an absentee ballot application, in person, on behalf of the voter who wishes to vote absentee.

The Absentee Period is underway now until the day prior to the election.

The majority of county offices in Stone and Taney Counties will be decided in the August Primary with the Republican Primary winners facing no Democratic opposition in November while other State and Federal Primary winners will set-up contested races in November.

The ballot will also include a pair of Constitutional Ballot Questions as well as some local questions, In Taney County, voters in Rockaway Beach will be deciding on a Use Tax Proposal while Stone County Voters will be ask to select members for the newly established Stone County Ambulance District, which is needed after passage of a ballot issue in April to establish the district to enhance ambulance service in the county.
