Branson, Hollister Suffer Close Losses on Final Day of Holiday Tournaments

The final days of Holiday Basketball Tournaments saw two MOARK Schools lose close contests.

For the Branson Pirates, they drop a 69-64 decision to Hillcrest in the Blue Division Third Place game of the Greenwood Blue and Gold Tournament. The game saw the Pirates control the first quarter and a half, the Hornets the following quarter and a half, followed by a back and forth fourth quarter which saw Hillcrest capitalize on a couple of late Branson turnovers to secure the win. 

The Gold Division Third Place game when to Greenwood over Willard with the Championships going to Kickapoo over Rogersville in the Blue, Republic over Bolivar in the Gold Divisions. 

Meanwhile, the Hollister Tigers dropped a tightly contested Fifth Place game at the Walnut Grove Boys Tournament as Ash Grove prevailed 66-64. Owen Houser scored 18 points to pace the Tigers. 

Lamar took third while Chadwick claimed the Boys Championship.
