Gainesville Claims Top Four Baseball Finish

A high school from the eastern part of the Lakes Region finishes their season in the Missouri State Baseball Tournament. 

Gainesville takes fourth place after completing competition in the Class 2 Tournament at US Ballpark in Ozark Tuesday. The Bulldogs lost to Portageville in the semi-finals Monday before dropping a 13-5 decision to Plattsburg in the Third Place Game Tuesday. Gainesville finishes the season with a 22-8 record. 

Three other southwest Missouri Schools will be vying for state championships in baseball this week, Springfield Catholic in Class 3 and Rogersville in Class 4 while Willard will be defending the Class 5 State Championship.
