H.S. Football Friday: Forsyth Gets Second Rivalry Win, Branson Rolls

A statement win for Forsyth in a new rivalry game and a win to stay unbeaten for Branson highlights Friday night's High School Football Games covered by MOARK Sports Dot Com.

Forsyth 40 Reeds Spring 14
The second in a series of three games between the area Mid-Lakes Conference schools sees the established team knock off the newcomers. After Forsyth beat Hollister earlier this year, it was the Panthers pining a defeat on the Wolves spoiling the Reeds Spring Homecoming Celebration. The Panthers control the game with their running attack with the team rushing for 450 yards with Braxton Gross leading the way, rushing for 209 yards and four touchdowns while Rollie Fisher added 155 yards and a score. After a scoreless first quarter, the Wolves jumped out on top with an interception return for a touchdown from Wyatt McVay early in the second but the Panthers answered with three straight scores and never looked back.

Branson 49 Marshfield 7
The Pirates remained undefeated by posting 28 first quarter points on their way to the big win. Branson though had to use a late first quarter surge as after they scored the first 14 points of the game on runs by Fullback Smith Quigg and Quarterback Luke McCormick, the Blue Jays got a 95 yard kickoff return to close the gap to seven, only to see the Pirates answer on the first play after the Marshfield score as Ryan Giles took a pitch around the end and raced 80 yards for a score. Then on their next possession, facing third and three from their own 17, McCormick kept the ball on an option and went 83 yards for a score. McCormick also threw a a touchdown pass to Hayden Wilson while Quigg ended up with two scores and Will Funderburk one score.

Strafford 56 Hollister 18
The state-ranked Indians jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead and went on to the win, even though the Tigers were able to put 18 points on the board in the second half.

Farmington 33 Harrison 14
The Goblins remain winless on the season as the Tommy Tice led Cardinals jumped out to a 10-0 lead and had the advantage 10-7 at half. The Cardinals pulled away to get the victory
