Alvin Leon “Al” Stanley, age 76, Neosho, Mo

Alvin Leon “Al” Stanley, age 76, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Oak Pointe of Neosho in Neosho, Missouri.

            He was born in Seligman, Missouri the son of Ruby Lester and Ersie Marie (David) Stanley. On June 27, 1969 in Galena, Missouri he was united in marriage to Carma Simpson who preceded him in death on January 17, 1997. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Lynn Stanley and one sister, Wanda Jean Stanley.

            Surviving are one son, Chris Stanley and his wife Martha of Kirbyville, Missouri; three daughters, Shelly Stanley of Springfield, Missouri, Kelley Stanley of Warrensburg, Missouri and Ashleigh Davidson and her husband Gage of Seligman, Missouri; two brothers, Raymond Stanley and his wife Pat of Grove, Oklahoma and Neil Stanley and his wife Cleta of Seligman, Missouri; one sister, Eldora Pratt and her husband J.R. of Seligman, Missouri; six grandchildren and one great grandaughter.

            Al lived his entire life in the Seligman, Missouri area graduating from Southwest High School in Washburn, Missouri and later attended Community College of the Air Force. He joined the United States Air Force from where he retired as master sergeant after serving for twenty-six years. During this time, he served in the Vietnam War and was very proud of his military service and being a Vietnam Veteran.  After returning home he had various jobs that included working at Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, raising cattle and working at Pea Ridge High School in the maintenance department. Al enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, tinkering with motors, watching wildlife, donating to the lottery and traveling. He loved his cows and his dog, Jake. He was of the Christian faith.

            Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Nolan Cemetery in Galena, Missouri. Evangelist Rick Stanley will conduct the services.
