Arnold Burdette Blewer, age 87, of Walnut Shade, Missouri

Arnold Burdette Blewer

November 19, 1935 ~ March 23, 2023

Arnold Burdette Blewer, age 87, of Walnut Shade, Missouri, went on to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the Kingdom of Heaven at 2:42 p.m. on March 23, 2023. He was born November 19, 1935, in Selmer, Tennessee, to the late Laura Bell (Arnold) Blewer and O. J. Blewer. While growing up, he worked together with them and his late brothers, Charles and Bobie Blewer, on their family farm, raising produce, growing cotton and training horses.

He is survived by his beloved wife, of 30 years, Leah Michele (McKinney) Blewer of Walnut Shade, Missouri; his beautiful daughter, Dr. Alexandria (Ali) Belle Blewer of Walnut Shade, Missouri; his dear friend and former wife, Linda Swindle of Terre Du Lac, Missouri, and their beautiful daughter, Laura Lynette (Blewer) Roberts of St. Louis, Missouri; their two beloved grandchildren: Kyle Roberts and Tasha Roberts of St. Louis, Missouri.

Arnold graduated from college in 1957 from Union University, in Jackson, Tennessee, with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He then joined the United States Army where he served three years in Special Op Forces. During that time, he earned several medals and a Black Belt in Marshal Arts while stationed in Japan.

After an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army, he began working as a Studio Photographer for CPI Corporation, in St. Louis, MO and was later promoted to Vice President of Studio Planning and Operations Division where he travelled around the United States and Canada selecting cites for the installation of the Sears Portrait Studios. He retired after thirty-three years of service.

During his Summer Vacations, Arnold traveled with his late brother, Bobie to several locations in the Midwest selling Funnel Cakes at State Fairs and Festivals. After his retirement from CPI Corporation in 1993, Arnold began looking forward to growing his Concession business by adding more trailers and menu items, including his Award-Winning recipe for Corn Brats at the Iowa State Fair in 2014. He enjoyed spending time working with his two daughters and grandchildren, making friends, and creating memories. After more than 4 decades, he retired from Arnold’s Concessions in 2019.

Arnold loved serving the Lord and being surrounded by his family and friends. He loved and lived his life by the Bible verses John 15:12-13. He was a wonderful Host and enjoyed entertaining at home with his wife Leah and daughter Ali (Alexandria) by his side. He never met a stranger and would extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Landscaping and gardening were his passion and he enjoyed sharing his bounty with others. He was a generous giver, an animal lover, gifted photographer, horse whisperer, World’s Best Funnel Cake maker, a wonderful husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather, a great listener, and supportive friend. He was never without these three things – a handkerchief to dry someone’s tears, a roll of Duct Tape to make a quick repair or a kind word to brighten the day of everyone he met. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Until we meet again, remember – John 3:16.

A Memorial Service for Arnold is planned for a later date and will be held at the home of Arnold, Leah and Ali Blewer in Walnut Shade, Missouri. In honor of Arnold’s Memory, please send donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and/or the John Hagee Ministries/Christians United for Israel. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
