Betty J. Woosley, age 95, of Independence, Missouri

Betty J. Woosley, age 95, of Independence, Missouri went home to be with her Lord on September 13, 2024. 

She was born in Cassville, Missouri, on May 15, 1929, the daughter of Floyd and Charline (Baker) Ash. In the summer of 1976, Betty and Lyal L. Woosley were united in marriage in Independence, Missouri. They shared 22 years of marriage until Lyal's passing on December 1, 1998. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rex Ash and Hansford Ash, and sister-in-law, Viola Ash.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Kay Keister and her husband Tim of Raytown, Missouri, and Gay Hadl and her husband David of Lawrence, Kansas; two granddaughters, Lisa Wilcox and her husband Joe of Olathe, Kansas, and Sarah Caponetto of Blue Springs, Missouri and two great-grandsons, Timothy Wood and Zane Caponetto.

A graduate of Cassville High School, Class of 1947, Betty furthered her education with some college and built a career as a parts expediter for Allis-Chalmers Tractors & Equipment. Betty's zest for life was evident in her many interests. With a green thumb that could coax beauty from any plant, she took immense pleasure in cultivating flowers and creating a vibrant garden. Her enthusiasm for life extended to her passion for sports, she enjoyed water sports and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Above all, Betty cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She was a member of the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana). Betty will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri. Reverend Royce Burke will conduct the services. Burial will be at Horner Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
