Betty Jeanne Liberty Moore, age 82.

Betty Jeanne Liberty Moore, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2024, at Cox Medical Center Branson. She was born May 25, 1942, in Monterey Park, California, to Richard and Emma Liberty.

Betty grew up in California and with a flare for the dramatics, Betty performed in many drama productions during her time at Folsom High School. After high school, she graduated from secretarial school and worked at the sheriff’s department in Chino County, California. There Betty met her husband, Carl Moore, and got married in 1984.

Carl and Betty moved to Branson, Missouri, and greatly adored living in the Tri-lakes area where she was an active member of the Red Hat Society and Neighbors & Friends of Table Rock Lake. She had many friends throughout the area but grew especially close to several of the social workers at Cox Medical Center Branson volunteering in the Social Work Department for over 15 years. Betty created many special and entertaining friendships that continued after her volunteer retirement. She was loved dearly by those social workers who admired her feisty personality, ability to stand her ground, and living life to the fullest at any age.

Betty loved traveling and had many great adventures including riding motorcycles with her husband; sailing on a Mediterranean cruise with her sister, Joanne; and riding the train across the country. Betty loved life and enjoyed the company of others, and her zest of life was contagious.

Her greatest love in life was her cats, and she was especially devoted to her dearly beloved cat, Sadie Mae, who gave her much joy, love, and comfort throughout their time together until Betty’s passing.

She is survived by her sister, Joanne Otway; stepchildren; niece, Erin; nephew, Eric; and three great-nephews.

No memorial service is planned at this time, but a celebration of life will be held in the spring at Cape Fair Cemetery, where her ashes will be buried next to her husband along with several of her beloved cats whose ashes she has kept over the years so they can be buried together.
