Betty June (Vining) Rantz...

Betty June (Vining) Rantz passed away October 14, 2024 at home on the family farm. Betty was born to Lester and Lois (Lewallen) Vining January 6, 1944. She was delivered at home by her grandmother Lacie (Viles) Lewallen. She attended grade school at the one room Notch schoolhouse and graduated from Reeds Spring High School in 1962. She was a 5th generation lifelong resident of Stone County.

Betty’s first job was at Man’s Land clothing store at Silver Dollar City in 1960. She married Darrel Rantz in 1962 and from this union had two children, Tracy and Greg. Betty worked at People’s Bank from 1965 to 1967. Betty and Darrel built and operated Rantz Motel and Southwest Cable Plow together from 1970 to 1975. Betty rejoined the Silver Dollar City family in 1975. In 1990 she opened Country Barn Gift Shop in the family cattle barn with her parents. She left Silver Dollar City in 1994 after a rewarding career as the Corporate Benefits Manager to work full-time with her family. Betty remained active in the day to day operations until her illness this summer.

When Betty wasn’t working, she loved traveling, watching English murder mysteries, working in her flowers, and spending time with her family especially Friday night family suppers. She still spoke fondly of days spent at the lake, Dollywood, and in Key West with some of her most favorite people. She had a wild sense of humor that she kept right up to the end. She loved sharing family history, photos, stories of time on the White River with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She had many lifelong friends, classmates, Silver Dollar City co-workers, Country Barn guests and vendors that she loved to keep in touch with.

Betty is survived by her sister Beverly Vining, daughter Tracy (Rantz) Kile, son Greg Rantz and his wife Nicole. Grandchildren Jacob Rantz and Mikena, Paige Rantz, Baily and Candi Kile, Nate and Shiloh (Kile) Freeman. Great grandchildren Bryan and Brooklin Kile, Ried and Ashlyn Kile, Cooper Kile, Olivia Kile, Kaed Freeman, Deakon Freeman, Kingston Freeman, Maverick and Vannah Rantz. Great-great granddaughters Kaisley Kile, Indy Kile and Lynlee Kile who will be arriving in March 2025. Many cousins in California, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri and Oregon.

Betty was proceeded in death by Darrel Rantz, parents Lester and Lois Vining, sister Vera Elizabeth Vining, and brother Jimmy Dale Vining.

Betty’s Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 25, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Ignite Church at Lakewood 19585 MO-413 Branson West, MO with grandson Baily Kile officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Betty was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She believed you should love your family and never hold a grudge as life is short. She was a true warrior to the very end.
