Carl Eugene Tanksley Jr., age 50, of Kirbyville, MO

Carl Eugene Tanksley Jr., age 50, of Kirbyville, Missouri, passed away suddenly September 6, 2021. He entered this life September 27, 1970, in Granite City, Illinois, the son of Carl Eugene Tanksley Sr. and Rose Mary (Kunsman) Tanksley. Rose has preceded him in death. He was joined in marriage September 4, 1993, to Lisa Marie Miller.

A man of the anything outdoors, Carl could be found boating, four-wheeling, hiking, camping, or just being outside. When there were people around, he was always the life of the party. Before retiring early, Carl was a crane operator for 20 years with the steel industry in Illinois. He will be dearly missed.

Carl is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lisa Tanksley; daughter, Amber Tanksley of Kirbyville, Missouri; father, Carl Tanksley Sr. of Granite City, Illinois; brother, Donald (Kay McCain) Tanksley of Granite City, Illinois; sister, Mary (Tim) Watson of Granite City, Illinois; niece, Macy Watson of Granite City, Illinois; along with many other extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be 1:00 p.m. October 2, 2021, at the Elks Lodge in Granite City, Illinois. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
